Format
This is a USCF Rated Quad Tournament where players are sorted by rating and divided into groups of four, known as “quads,” ensuring participants compete against opponents with similar skill levels. It is a Round Robin event with three rounds; each player in a group plays every other player in their group once.
Rounds normally start at 9:15 am, 11:45 am and 2:15 pm.
The time control for this event is G60, d0 (60 minutes per player, no delay time).
Rating Info
At the end of the tournament, the final results will be submitted to the USCF, where they will update each player’s official rating(s).
Since the time control for this tournament is G60, d0, each player’s finish will be applied to both their Regular and Quick ratings, which can be viewed online:
Fees
The entry fee for this tournament depends on your USCF and PCC status:
- Free for USCF rated Masters
- $20 for Prescott Chess Club “Upgraded” Members
- $25 for everyone else
- Fees are collected on-site before the event begins.
Note – a current and active U. S. Chess membership is required to play in this event. If you are not already a member, they offer a large variety of membership types and fee structures.
Prizes
Cash prizes are awarded to the winner and runner up in each Quad:
- 1st Place – $50
- 2nd Place – $25
