A great place for casual play and study…

Summary

Casual play in a relaxed atmosphere.  Open to adult and teen players of all skill levels.  Younger players are welcome with supervision.

Every Saturday from 12:00 to 15:00 (3 pm)

Format

Variety is the spice of life, so we aim for something different every week, depending on how many people show up.  The first two hours are usually dedicated to some sort of match play and the last hour set aside for “something” different as shown in the lists below:

12:00 to 14:00: Match Play Events

  • Open Challenge
  • Mini-Event – Quick Ladder
  • Round-O (modified Round Robin)
  • Time Warp (clock play where stronger players have shorter time limits)

14:00 to 15:00: Something Different (changes each week)

Improve Your Game:

Four players on two boards; captured pieces are given to your teammate.
Two teams, where players rotating making moves, based on what is on the board – no coaching allowed! 
Pieces on the back rank do NOT mirror each other.
Members present and discuss ways to improve all aspects of your game.
